On Friday 12 July #TeamBrace will be in Bristol Shopping Quarter to replicate Stage 7 of the Tour de France as part of a challenge to raise money for BRACE, an independent charity committed to defeating dementia through scientific research.
The event has been organised by Rich Ford, with the support of Broadmead BID and PureGym Union Gate, who are kindly providing two of their spin bikes for the day.
Rich says: “My fundraising has been channelled towards Dementia charities following my mum’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s around four years go. The plan is to do a number of events and challenges between now and the end of February 2020 to support both BRACE and the Alzheimer’s Society. Hoping to get as much support as possible along the way.”
Rich and #TeamBrace aim to replicate the distance covered by the Tour de France riders on their Stage 7, which takes place the same day. In France they will ride from Belfort to Chalon-sur-Saône, while in Bristol they will travel the 230km without leaving Broadmead!
Volunteers from BRACE will be on hand to talk to shoppers about the charity. They will be very grateful for any money you drop into their buckets.
